Dr. Flores has been a nurse since 1997. She has been a clinical faculty member with AHU since 2014 and a full-time faculty member since 2021. Her degrees include a BSN from the University of Tennessee (Chattanooga), MSN from the University of Phoenix (Orlando), and a DNP from Southern Adventist University with an emphasis in Lifestyle Therapeutics specialty. She is a certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Currently, she teaches Community Health Nursing and Health Promotion and Wellness for the BSN Program. Dr. Flores serves on a variety of committees in the Department of Nursing, as well as the University, such as Whole Person Education, Community Engagement, and Hope Clinic Steering committees. Her research interests include lifestyle, health promotion, and disease prevention. She is an emergency room nurse and has worked in the progressive care unit and the preoperative unit. She is a member of the Adventist Association of Faith Community Nursing and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She continues to support the institution as a volunteer in local community events and international mission trips.
